Stone Mountain Judicial Circuit
Assistant District Attorney - Diversion and Alternatives to Prosecution Unit (10/29/18)
We are seeking an experienced prosecutor, criminal litigation attorney, or legal aid attorney to join the Diversion and Community Alternatives to Prosecution Unit.
A successful candidate for this position will have least five years of previous legal experience that includes litigation and criminal law with an emphasis on trial advocacy, collateral support of victims or clients, and skilled work as an attorney. This is not an entry-level position, as it requires a candidate who can read deeply into case files not just for evidentiary sufficiency, but also for insight into individual actions, motivations, and criminogenic thinking.
In addition to litigation experience, the applicant should have a demonstrated commitment to community service, addiction recovery, or mental health advocacy or support. Experience as an Accountability Court prosecutor is highly regarded. Any applicant should possess excellent communication skills as an adept negotiator, persuader, and conflict resolver. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and team-oriented – someone who seeks to support colleagues and community partners in achieving justice. Applicants should also be comfortable interacting with both accused and victims of crime in a compassionate and professional manner.
Must possess and maintain a valid membership in good standing in the State Bar Association of Georgia. Any offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory background check results and county drug testing requirements.
